“In Your Boombox” was recorded in October 2003 by hanging a microphone on a ceiling fan. It was the easiest way to capture our songs to tape, and we immediately fell in love with the way it sounded.

The quintessential Art Lord album. This was recorded at what I consider the peak of Art Lord’s career. It was recorded on February 29 (Leap Day) 2004, at Sam & Gerrit’s house. “Pineapple Smile” is one of my favorite Art Lord songs.

Snail -
Art Lord & The Self-Portraits
We named this one "Snail" after the fake Cure album of the same name. We re-recorded “Bouncing Away” and “Skeleton” for this album, but I think the originals sound way better. Every song was recorded twice onto four-track, and then we put the two together... so everything on this album is doubled.
